Critical Compliance Alert: Mandatory Speed Limiters for Heavy Vehicles Begin October 1, 2025
The Malaysian Ministry of Transport (MOT) has officially initiated its phased mandate requiring the installation and verification of Speed Limitation
With the October mandate now strictly enforced for Phase 1 vehicles and Phase 2 is starting soon, regulatory focus is inevitably shifting toward Phase 3.
If you operate vehicles falling under the Phase 3 category, now is the time to act. Waiting for the official last-minute rush risks installation bottlenecks, stock shortages, and potential downtime for your operations.
Secure Your Compliance Early:
Avoid the Rush: Beat the installation queue that Phase 2 owners are currently facing.
Budget Smart: Plan your fleet upgrades now rather than panic-buying later.
Total Compliance: Fully Certified SLD installation for Phase 3 requirements.
Our services meet all official requirements, including UN R89 standards and the mandatory 90 km/h speed limit. All work is certified by a JPJ-recognized
Applies to vehicles registered from 2015 onwards that already include an SLD function in the ECU.
For these vehicles, the speed limiter can usually be activated or configured by the manufacturer or authorised service centre.
If the vehicle’s ECU does not support an integrated SLD function, it will fall under Phase 3 requirements.
Covers vehicles registered before 2015 that come with an SLD-capable ECU.
Similar to Phase 1, owners will need to contact the manufacturer or authorised service provider to enable the feature.
If the vehicle lacks an SLD-ready ECU, it will be categorised under Phase 3 requirements.
Covers all vehicles without built-in ECU SLD to retrofit a JPJ-approved speed limiter.
This installation must be done by authorised workshops — and we are an authorised provider ready to install and certify your SLD for full JPJ compliance.
